ICE recall ’01-born goaltender Jesse Makaj
Cranbrook, B.C. – The Kootenay ICE announced Friday it’s recalled ’01-born goaltender Jesse Makaj.
The ICE selected Makaj in the second round (23rd overall) in the 2016 WHL Bantam Draft.
Makaj has appeared in 11 games with the Greater Vancouver Canadians of the BC Major Midget League this season. In those 11 games, he’s posted a goals against average of 3.28 and a record of 5-6-0.

The next home game for the ICE is Sunday, January 14 against the Saskatoon Blades. Puck drop is scheduled for 4 p.m. That’s a Family Fun Day game presented by Ktunaxa Nation Council and will include face painters provided by Painted Turtle, a photo booth by Jo Mckinstrie, family music and an Autograph Alley presented by Tim Hortons.
In addition, the game will mark the first annual Minor Hockey Night and the ICE will be holding Billet Recognition Night presented by Dean Cockell, Portfolio Strategies.
