Krebs returns home from pre-tournament action at U18 World Championship in Russia

Cranbrook, B.C. – ICE 2001-born forward Peyton Krebs is returning home from Russia after being released from Team Canada’s National Under-18 Team on Wednesday.
Krebs, Graeme Clarke (Ottawa, OHL), Kirby Dach (Saskatoon, WHL) and Nolan Maier (Saskatoon, WHL) were sent home after Hockey Canada added six players to the roster.
Krebs was one of seven underage players invited to Team Canada’s pre-tournament camp, four of which were released on Wednesday.
Krebs played in both of Canada’s pre-tournament games, which included a 5-0 victory over Slovakia on April 15 and a 3-2 win over Finland the following day.
Team Canada begins the 2018 IIHF U18 World Championship in Magnitogorsk, Russia on Thursday against the United States.
Canada has won seven medals at the IIHF U18 World Championship, including three gold medals (2003, 2008, 2013).
