RAIDERS DOWN BRONCOS – Dakota Conroy scored twice and Mark McNeill chipped in three assists to lead the Prince Albert Raiders to a 5-1 win over the visiting Swift Current Broncos in Western Hockey League action on Sunday.
Mike Winther, Chance Braid and Anthony Bardaro also scored while Harrison Ruopp and Davis Vandane each picked up two helpers for the Raiders (8-3-0-2), who broke open a 1-1 game with three second-period goals en route to snapping a four-game losing skid. Luke Siemens turned aside 28 of 29 shots to post the win.
Graham Black – with his sixth goal of the season – had the lone tally for the Broncos (5-5-3-1), who went 1-for-6 on the power play as they suffer their second loss in a row. Eetu Laurikainen and Landon Bow combined for 42 saves in the loss.
REBELS 3, ICE 2
Charles Inglis scored two power play goals, including the winner 14:16 into the third period, to lift the visiting Red Deer Rebels to a 3-2 triumph over the Kootenay Ice on Sunday.
Kevin Pochuk scored his first goal of the season and Haydn Fleury picked up two assists for the Rebels (6-7-1-1), who trailed 2-0 early in the second period but scored three unanswered goals to take the victory. Patrik Bartosak stopped 30 of 32 shots to claim his fourth win of the season.
Jaedon Descheneau scored for a third straight game and chipped in an assist while Collin Shirley scored for the fourth time in six games for the Ice (4-7-0-0), who have lost two straight games. Wyatt Hoflin made 28 saves in a losing cause.
