ICE SELECT FORWARD IN FIRST ROUND

Calgary, AB – Garnet Kazuik, Director of Scouting for the Kootenay ICE Hockey Club today announced Forward Jared Legien has been selected ninth overall by the club in the 2013 WHL Bantam Draft.  The 24^th annual WHL Bantam Draft began at 8:30 am today in Calgary and is for players born in 1998 and playing in the four Western Provinces and selected regions of the United States.

 

“Legien fits in our Hockey Club’s mold of what we look for in a player.  He is an offensive player that is able to make plays under pressure which was important to us as a Club,” commented Kazuik.  “He is still developing his skills and is willing to help those around him improve as well.  We are excited to welcome Jared to the Kootenay ICE organization.” 

 

Legien becomes the 18^th first round draft pick in the history of the ICE franchise.
