ICE CHIPS: The KOOTENAY ICE enter this week’s action with a 10-27-7-1 record (5-12-5-0 at home, 5-15-2-1 on the road, 1-7 in overtime, 2-1 in shootouts) and in sixth place in the CENTRAL DIVISION…The ICE will return home to host PRINCE ALBERT January 18 before beginning a two-game U.S. DIVISION road trip January 20 at TRI-CITY.
COLLEGE NIGHTS: COLLEGE OF THE ROCKIES students can take advantage of discounted ticket and concession packages at select KOOTENAY ICE home games with COLLEGE NIGHTS…Prices range from $12.00 for a game ticket to $20.00 for a ticket and meal combo…The next COLLEGE NIGHT is Friday, January 27 when the ICE host SPOKANE…For more information or to purchase tickets, contact the CAMPUS LIFE DEPARTMENT at the COLLEGE OF THE ROCKIES.

ROSTER UPDATE: KOOTENAY is carrying 24 players (two goaltenders, nine defensemen and 13 forwards)…The ICE roster is made up of one 1996-born player, four 1997-born players, nine 1998-born players, six 1999-born players, and four 2000-born players…KOOTENAY has 11 first-year players on its roster.
DID YOU KNOW: BRETT DAVIS and COLTON KROEKER both scored their first goals in KOOTENAY uniforms January 13 against the WHEAT KINGS…DAVIS and KROEKER collected their first points with the ICE (both assists) in their KOOTENAY debuts January 11 at SWIFT CURRENT… PAYTON LEE appeared in his 200th career regular season game January 14 in BRANDON…LEE is ranked third among WHL goaltenders in saves with 1,100…MAX PATTERSON played in his 100th career WHL game January 14 against the WHEAT KINGS…SAM HUSTON scored his first career WHL goal January 13 in his hometown of BRANDON…AUSTIN WELLSBY is one outing away from 150 career games played… Defensemen DALLAS HINES and KURTIS RUTLEDGE are both one game away from 100 career appearances…Former ICE Goaltender JEFF GLASS signed with the ROCKFORD ICEHOGS of the AMERICAN HOCKEY LEAGUE January 10…Former KOOTENAY Forward JAEDON DESCHENEAU was recalled by BAKERSFIELD of the AHL January 9.
TRANSACTION / INJURIES: The ICE have recalled Defenseman LOEDEN SCHAUFLER (April 27, 2000) from the NOTRE DAME HOUNDS of the SASKATCHEWAN MIDGET HOCKEY LEAGUE…Forward BARRETT SHEEN will be out of the KOOTENAY lineup five to six weeks with an upper body injury…Defenseman SAM HUSTON will be out of the ICE lineup two to three weeks with an upper body injury…Defenseman NIKITA RADZIVILYUK will be out of the KOOTENAY lineup two weeks with an upper body injury…Defenseman RYAN POULIOT will be out of the ICE lineup one to two weeks with a lower body injury…Forward VINCE LOSCHIAVO will be out of the KOOTENAY lineup one week with an upper body injury.
ONE YEAR AGO: After 45 games of the 2015-16 season the ICE were 8-34-3-0, after 46 games 8-35-3-0 and after 47 games 8-35-4-0.
