ICE announce Reading with the ICE initiative presented by Western Financial Group is underway

Cranbrook, B.C. – The Kootenay ICE Hockey Club announced that the Reading with the ICE initiative presented by Western Financial Group is underway.

The ICE held its first two Reading with the ICE sessions on November 8 and 9 at T.M Roberts Elementary. The initiative will continue to take place at a number of elementary schools throughout Cranbrook during the 2017-18 hockey season.

During each school visit, two ICE players read a book with the theme of anti-bullying/inclusion to the students, discuss the message and lead an interactive and meaningful activity.

Western Financial Group is also the game sponsor for Pink the Rink on Saturday, January 27, 2018, when the ICE take on the Brandon Wheat Kings. The ICE look to fill the rink with fans wearing pink to bring awareness to anti-bullying and will release more exciting game details closer to the date.

Reading with the ICE visits will be shared through photographs on Kootenay ICE social media channels – Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram (kootenay_ice).
