ICE partner with The Kimberley Academy

Cranbrook,B.C. – The Kootenay ICE Hockey Club is pleased to announce a new partnership with The Kimberley Academy.

The Kimberley Academy is a Hockey Canada Sport School program that allows dedicated female hockey players to play and practice at an elite level while pursuing a challenging academic program that will prepare student-athletes to advance to the next level. The Kimberley Academy will soon provide the same programming for male athletes.

“We are listening and trying to develop unique programs that are meaningful to each community group and in this case The Kimberley Academy,” said Matt Cockell, President and General Manager. “The Academy is in need of a skate sharpener for their program, they are not inexpensive and we want to help so we are going to do that.”

Cockell added, “We are working hard every day to contribute to the community, that is our sole focus.”

As part of the partnership with The Kimberly Academy, the organization will sell ICE Flex Packs with all proceeds from the flex packs going towards the skate sharpener.

The next home game for the ICE is Friday, November 17, 2017 against the Red Deer Rebels. Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m. Tickets are on sale and can be purchased online at ICEcountry.ca, at the ICE Gear Store at Western Financial Place or by calling 250-417-0322.
