POST GAME REPORT | McGovern earns first shutout of season, ICE down Tigers 5-0

Cranbrook, B.C. – The Kootenay ICE downed the Medicine Hat Tigers 5-0 in an afternoon matinee at Western Financial Place on Thanksgiving Monday.
The ICE jumped out to a 3-0 lead after the first period, where the first two goals were scored 17 seconds apart approximately five minutes into the game.
ICE goaltender Duncan McGovern, who received the first star of the game, had a solid performance in net stopping all 45 shots he faced to record his third career WHL shutout. Davis Murray (1G, 1A) and Brendan Semchuk (1G, 1A) both collected two points.

The ICE have a few days off before they begin a three-game in three-day stretch next weekend. Starting on Friday, October 12, the ICE welcome the Regina Pats. Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m. MT.
