Cranbrook, B.C. – The Kootenay ICE (8-24-6-1) begin a three games in three days stretch against the Medicine Hat Tigers (21-15-1-2) at Canalta Centre on Friday, January 4.

The ICE are coming off of a 4-3 overtime loss to the Victoria Royals on December 31. The ICE received goals from Brad Ginnell, Davis Murray and Dallas Hines. Peyton Krebs and Jaeger White each recorded two assists. ICE goaltender Jesse Makaj stopped 48-of-52 shots that came his way. The Royals got goals from D-Jay Jerome, Dante Hannoun, Kaid Oliver and Dino Kambeitz. The ICE were outshot 52-29. They went 0-for-1 on the power play, 3-for-4 on the penalty kill and won 49-of-80 face-offs.
The ICE have amassed 23 points this season, which is good for sixth in the Central Division and 11th in the Eastern Conference.

The Medicine Hat Tigers host the Kootenay ICE for the third and final time this season on January 4. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. MT. The Tigers last played on January 2. The Tigers are 4-0-0-0 since the Christmas break. Following the Christmas break, the Tigers play seven-of-nine games on home ice. Heading into Friday’s game, the Tigers are fourth in the Central Division and seventh in the Eastern Conference.
