REGULAR SEASON SCHEDULE

Cranbrook, BC  — Jeff Chynoweth, General Manager of the Kootenay ICE Hockey Club, today released the Club’s 2014-2015 WHL regular season schedule.  The ICE will open their 17th season in the East Kootenay region on the road on Friday, September  19 in Red Deer.  The Home Opener for the ICE is scheduled for Friday, October 3 vs. Spokane.  Kootenay will play a 72 game schedule (36 at home and 36 on the road) concluding Sunday, March 20 in Calgary.

 

The ICE will play the Central Division teams a total of 34 times, Calgary and Medicine Hat seven times (four at home, three on the road), Lethbridge and Red Deer seven times (three at home, four on the road) and Edmonton six times (three at home, three on the road).  In the East Division, Kootenay will play Brandon, Moose Jaw, Prince Albert, Regina, Saskatoon and Swift Current four times (two at home, two on the road).  In the BC Division, the ICE will play Kamloops, Kelowna, Prince George, Vancouver and Victoria once at home.  In the US Division, Kootenay will play Spokane five times (two at home, three on the road) and Everett, Portland, Seattle and Tri-City once on the road.

 

Of their 36 home games, the ICE will play 29 of them on weekends; including 17 on Friday, 9 on Saturday and three on Sunday.  Of the remaining seven homes games, five will be played on Tuesday and two on Wednesday.

 

Start times at Western Financial Place will remain the same with all Tuesday to Saturday games starting at 7:00 pm, while all Sunday home games will begin at 6:00 pm.  Please note the special 8:00 pm start time on Friday, October 31 vs. Red Deer for Halloween.
