CRANBROOK, B.C. – On one of the best days of spring in Cranbrook – lots of sunshine, moments of cloud cover and very little wind – a crowd of people made their way out to the Kootenay ICE’s Drive to 25 BBQ presented by Bridge Interiors.
The event – which ran from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday – served up hot dogs, hamburgers and beverages. Those in attendance also had the chance to enter to win three prizes (one family value package worth $1275, one night in the owner’s suite and a $100 retail gift card). In addition, the crowd donated over $1800 to the Kootenay ICE Education Fund.
“The ICE want to thank all those who came out from Cranbrook and the East Kootenay Region to support the event,” said President and GM Matt Cockell. “We’re thrilled with the amount of people who attended and shared their feedback and ideas with us.”
ICE forward Jake Elmer attended the BBQ, making the drive from his summer home in Calgary. Elmer spent time talking with fans and briefly spoke with Summit 107 FM.
As the Drive to 25 continues, a number of fans also purchased their season tickets for the upcoming 2017-18 campaign.
The Drive to 25 features exclusive benefits and pricing for season seat holders, available until June 30. For more information call 250-417-0322 or visit ICEcountry.ca to order online.
