Defensive prospect Zachary Patrick signs with the ICE

Cranbrook, B.C. – The Kootenay ICE Hockey Club is pleased to announce the signing of defenceman Zachary Patrick.

The 2001-born Patrick was listed last season by Director of Scouting Garnet Kazuik.

The Winnipeg native played the 2016-17 season with the Winnipeg Wild of the Manitoba Midget AAA Hockey League. Patrick registered four goals and 25 assists for 29 points in 39 games with the Wild last season. The six foot, 170-pound defender also added four points in 11 playoff games.

“Zachary has a high hockey IQ, skates well and he is competing for ice; he wants to make the team,” said Matt Cockell, President and General Manager. “His camp has been very good and we will give him every opportunity along with our other talented young defence in camp.”

Earlier Thursday, the ICE announced the signing of forward prospect Cody Shepheard.

The last day to purchase ICE season seats is September 8. You can order yours by calling 250-417-0322, stopping by the ICE office at Western Financial Place or by ordering online at ICEcountry.ca.
