
Kootenay ICE Draft Ten Players During 2017 WHL Bantam Draft

Calgary, AB. – The 2017 Western Hockey League Bantam Draft is complete for the new Kootenay ICE who selected a total of 10 players in Calgary today.
“The players selected today represent our future and add to an already strong talent level of ICE players that will help us continue to build momentum moving forward,” said Garnet Kazuik, Director of Scouting for the Kootenay ICE.
With the second overall selection, the Kootenay ICE drafted Connor McClennon from Pursuit of Excellence Hockey Academy.
McClennon, 5’7”, 156 lb, from Wainwright Alberta, “loves to score, that’s his go-to” said Kazuik on McClennon’s ability.
“It is an exciting time for the Kootenay ICE and our fans. Our future is very bright and we feel like we have been able to add to an existing group of talented players,” said Matt Cockell, President and General Manager.

- Round 5 – Owen Pederson, F, 6’, 149lbs, OHA Edmonton Bantam Prep, 89th overall.
- Round 5 – Brett Fogg, LD, 5’11”, 148lbs, Humboldt Broncos BAA, 91st overall.
- Round 6 – Benjamin Zloty, LD, 5’8”, 149lbs, Calgary CRAA Royals BAAA, 111th overall.
