Cranbrook, B.C. – The Kootenay ICE (12-45-7-3) close out its 2018-19 regular season schedule against the Red Deer Rebels (33-28-4-2) at Western Financial Place on Sunday, March 17.
Puck drop is scheduled for 4 p.m. MT.
Sunday’s game is titled the Community Recognition Game presented by Ktunaxa Nation, where members of the community who have supported the franchise for 21 years will be celebrated pre-game.

The Kootenay ICE are coming off of a 5-2 loss to the Medicine Hat Tigers on March 15. The ICE received goals from Marco Creta and Holden Kodak. ICE goaltender Jesse Makaj stopped 51-of-55 shots in the loss. The Tigers got goals from Ryan Jevne, Tyler Preziuso, Ryan Chyzowski, Linus Nassen and Brett Kemp. Tigers goaltender Mads Sogaard blocked 29-of-31 shots. The ICE were outshot 56-31. They went 0-for-2 on the power play, 3-for-4 on the penalty kill and won 29-of-64 face-offs.
The ICE have amassed 32 points this season, which is good for sixth in the Central Division and 11th in the Eastern Conference.

The Red Deer Rebels visit the Kootenay ICE for the third and final time this season on Sunday, March 17. The Rebels have clinched a spot in the WHL playoffs, securing the second wild card spot in the Eastern Conference. Today’s game is the final game of the regular season for the Rebels.
