President / General Manager – Jeff Chynoweth

Jeff Chynoweth has been part of the Kootenay ICE organization since its inception in October 1995.  Jeff is entering his 30th season in the Western Hockey League and 15th year as General Manager.  He was named the 2004-2005 WHL Executive of the Year and has worked in various positions throughout his tenure in the League.  Jeff and his wife Michele are the parents of two children – Courtney (22) and Ryan (20).

Head Coach - Luke Pierce

Luke Pierce was named the Head Coach of the Kootenay ICE in May of 2015. Prior to joining the ICE, he served as General Manager / Head Coach of the Merritt Centennials of the British Columbia Hockey League for five and a half seasons. During his time behind the bench his teams posted a 168-111-21 regular season record and qualified for the playoffs all six years. Pierce was named the BCHL Interior Conference Coach of the Year in 2012-2013 and was an Assistant Coach for Team Canada West at the 2014 World Junior A Challenge. Luke attended the Royal Military College of Canada in Kingston, Ontario from 2004-2009. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts with a Psychology Major and Business Minor. He also earned a Master’s Degree of Business Administration with a concentration in Strategic Management.

Luke and his wife Amy are the parents of three boys – William (6), Bennett (3) and Austin (1).
