The Western Hockey League today announced the first two home games of the WHL Eastern Conference Semi-Final Series for the Red Deer Rebels and Kootenay Ice that will open on Friday, April 6th. Red Deer, which
finished first in the WHL Eastern Conference will play host to either the Calgary Hitmen or Brandon Wheat Kings. The Kootenay Ice who finished second in the WHL Eastern Conference will play host to the Swift Current Broncos or Calgary Hitmen.

Calgary - The Bank of Montreal MasterCard - Western Hockey League Player of the Week is forward Marcel Hossa of the Portland Winter Hawks. Hossa earned player of the week honours by recording four goals and five assists in four games. Hossa helped lead the Winter Hawks to a 3-1 record for the week.

Cranbrook, BC -- With the completion of their 2000-2001 regular season, the Kootenay ICE have announced play-off dates for the best of seven Eastern Conference Quarter Final vs. the Moose Jaw Warriors.
The ICE, who recorded their second consecutive 100 point campaign, had the second best record in the WHL this season (45-17-4-6 record). Kootenay was 3-0-0-1 against Moose Jaw in the four game season series (2-0-0-0 at home, 1-0-0-1 on the road, 0-0-0-1 in overtime). The Warriors, who have one regular season game remaining, have a 34-28-4-5 record and are in sixth place in the Eastern Conference.
