
Cranbrook, B.C. – The Kootenay ICE kick off its 2017-18 regular season schedule against rival Calgary Hitmen Friday night.
Puck drop is scheduled for 7:17 p.m. at Western Financial Place.
The ICE enter the regular season on a two-game winning streak, defeating the Lethbridge Hurricanes and the Hitmen in Crowsnest Pass, Alberta last weekend.
The ICE went 3-3 during the 2017 pre-season while the Hitmen went 2-3.
Barrett Sheen and Colton Kroeker led the way for the ICE during the pre-season, each collecting six points. Sheen registered the most goals with four while Kroeker led in assists with five.
Hitmen forward Justyn Gurney had five points in the pre-season which led the team.
During the 2016-17 regular season, the ICE went 0-for-7 against the Hitmen including a loss in overtime and a shootout.
